Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has urged Cord co-principals Raila Odinga and Moses Wetangula to endorse him as the coalition presidential flag-bearer for the 2017 elections.
Musyoka on Sunday during a prayer rally in Machakos said that he is ready to contest for the top seat on behalf of the Coalition.
The Wiper leader observed that he will ensure that Cord clinches the 2017 election if endorsed as presidential flag bearer.
“I pray every night that my brothers Raila Odinga and Moses Wetangula will be touched and endorse me as Cord flag bearer in next year’s election, a prayer which I know will be answered,” said Musyoka.
The former Vice president however, said that he will support whoever wins the ticket for the top seat.
“Despite my prayer that I be endorsed for the top seat, I want to make it clear that I will support whoever wins the ticket whether Raila or Wetangula,” he said.
Kalonzo said that Cord was united alleging fears that there is discontent among the Cord principals.
He rubbished the claims that have been going round of him ditching opposition to join Jubilee. He said that the claims are unfounded and that he is in Cord to stay.
A section of the coalition members have been urging the co-principals to quickly endorse the presidential flag bearer for 2017.
Wiper Party chairman David Musila last week said that members were becoming impatient with the delay in naming the presidential flag bearer.
However, Cord leader Raila Odinga said that the flag bearer will be known soon.
“We don’t want to rush things, we are working o a strategy that will ensure that Cord forms the next government,” he said during the launch of Kalonzo’s website at Panari hotel on Thursday last week.
