[Photo|Eng Francis Maliti]Machakos Deputy Governor Eng Francis Maliti commissioned Kakinduni borehole at Muvuti/Kiima Kimwe ward in Machakos sub-county on Wednesday. "The government of Machakos County has prioritized addressing water scarcity and this borehole adds to the hundreds already drilled across the county," said Maliti.He was accompanied by area MCA Caleb Mule, CEC Members Ruth Mutua (Water and Irrigation), Naomi Mutie (Health) and the County Secretary Francis Mwaka. On January 18, Maliti commissioned a high yield borehole at Ivumbuni Village in Yatta Sub-county. He said the launch of the borehole was timely as it would serve area residents who have for long had to contend with lack of adequate supply of clean water. ‪"I am happy to see wananchi from this locality enjoy free tap water; a manifestation of our promise to them during our first term in office," Maliti said on Thursday.He was accompanied by County Secretary Francis Mwaka alongside six Members Of County Assembly; Judas Ndawa - Matuu, Joshua Muli - Ndalani, Phoebe Koki - Nominated, Jacqueline Nziva - Ikombe, Nicholas Mutuku- Katanga and Francis Kalumu - Kithimani.He later accompanied Matuu ward MCA Judas Ndawa to officially open his ward Office at Matuu town.
