Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has urged the National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders to engage Kenyans on issue based campaigns as the county heads to the August 8 general election.
Duale says that there is no need for NASA and other politicians to propagate smear campaigns.
Speaking in Garissa Town on Friday, Duale said that NASA should sell its manifesto to Kenyans without discrediting or maligning President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee government.
The MP accused NASA of envy saying that the Raila Odinga led opposition is discrediting the development projects Jubilee administration has made in the last four years.
“We are telling NASA leaders to shun propaganda and instead sale their manifesto to Kenyans without discrediting Jubilee administration,” he said.
Duale also asked the opposition to preach unity and peace during their campaigns.
He warned against chaotic campaigns saying that they will polarize the country ahead of polls.
“We must all preach peace and shun actions that could spark animosity among our supporters,” he said.
The National Assembly leader of Majority said that Jubilee will win re-election on August 8.
Duale said that President Uhuru’s transformative and progressive development agenda will guarantee him re-election.
He said that Jubilee remains the better option for Kenyans claiming that the opposition has nothing to offer Kenyans.
The Garissa Town MP at the same time exuded confidence of recapturing his seat in the August 8 polls.
He said that he has no stiff competition adding that his development agenda for Garissa people wills see him re-elected.
He faces stiff competition from former National Assembly deputy speaker Farah Maalim who is contesting on Wiper Party ticket.
