Cotu secretary General Francis Atwoli on Sunday said that it was important for stakeholders to be involved in the dialogue.

In a statement to the media on Sunday, Atwoli said that IEBC talks will be meaningful if stakeholders are engaged. “The  talks on IEBC  should not only involve Cord and Jubilee but all stakeholders,” said the Cotu secretary general.

Atwoli at the same time took a swipe at Jubilee and Cord for the hard lines on the IEBC dialogue.

The Cotu secretary general asked Cord and Jubilee to agree on talks without conditions for the sake of addressing the IEBC stalemate.

Atwoli said that Kenyans had lost faith in the electoral agency and that Cord concerns were legitimate.

Last week President Uhuru Kenyatta agreed to dialogue with Cord over IEBC. The President went ahead to name an 11 member team for Jubilee side in the IEBC dialogue.

However, opposition leader Raila Odinga rejected the proposal saying that Jubilee must first address their demands before calling for dialogue.

The opposition leaders have been holding protests against the IEBC.

On Sunday, however, the opposition leaders called off their planned Monday protests to give Jubilee time to respond to their demands before talks.

The opposition said that they will resume their protests on Thursday if Jubilee will not have responded and addressed their concerns.
