Politicians are the most qualified sinners if I go against the do not judge directive in the Holy Book. They usually say what they don’t intent or barely believe in to satisfy their egocentric needs. Recently, the Mombasa governor Hassan Joho has been attacked by Jubilee and other sober Kenyans who believe in quality education for alleged certificate forgery.

However, the governor received protection from the only super schooled politician Pro Nyong’o and a veteran Engineer Raila Odinga among other scholars. Were they genuine in their defense or it is pure politics aimed at harvesting Joho’s fearless personality?

While in Kisii Raila said, "Joho is clean and has done nothing wrong. If Jubilee dares they will be in trouble.”

This is a statement that is politically correct but detrimental to our ailing education system. If the allegations can be constitutionally proven true, then the victims should face the law regardless of their political might and financial stability. What we have witnessed proves how there are no saints in Kenyan political cycles and a change of regime will be a mere movement from one monkeyed forest to another.

I have never been, am not and will never be against those who do not excel academically. In fact, one of my best friends did not go beyond class 8 but he is living far much better than me. What annoys many politically mature Kenyans is the lack of transparency by our leaders. The same politicians who preach the gospel of going to school are the same who protect exam-leaking cartels that violet equality.

The children of the poor are the most affected. If you were there when first president Jomo Kenyatta listed illiteracy as one of the priority issues that should be fixed, what makes you support monkey business in the education sector?
