President Uhuru Kenyatta has challenged Kenyans to enlist as voters early to avoid the last minute rush.
Speaking in Murang'a on Thursday, the head of state further noted that it was through registering as voters that Kenyans would choose their preferred leaders.
"Youths should also make sure they take identity cards so that they don't miss out on their democratic right to vote," he said.
"The only way for you to ensure the leaders of your choice get elected in the coming elections is by registering as a voter," he added.
President Kenyatta further urged political leaders to desist from creating disunity among Kenyans ahead of the August polls.
"Leaders should also refrain from dividing Kenyans or inciting the youth to fight," he said.
"I am confident that Kenyans are intelligent and will elect leaders based on their commitment to development," he added.
