Parents whose children have not joined high school have been urged to enrol them in polytechnics.
Speaking in Gilgil on Thursday, Ann Njoroge, an official from ministry of education said polytechnics are now offering very marketable courses.
Njoroge said that polytechnic is the best alternative for pupils who were unable to secure a chance in secondary school due to poor performance.
"The newly established county polytechnics are affordable. A good amount of bursary funds from the county government will cater for students in this institution," said Njoroge.
She urged parents to make sure their children are engaged in development oriented activities which will help them to build their lives.
Speaking at the same time area assistant chief Maurice Matama said his office will work closely with education stakeholders to improve education standard in the area.
“We are happy that our government has revived polytechnics and they are offering relevant and quality skills,” said Matama.
Matama further warned youths against indulging in crime related activities.
