Deputy president William Ruto has expressed confidence that the August general election will be peaceful.
Speaking at the Kericho African Inland Church (AIC) where he attended a church service, Ruto called on politicians across the political divide to lead in preaching harmony.
“We will ensure by all means that we have a peaceful election,” Ruto said.
“Every leader, every aspirant, must make it their responsibility and business to ensure that their followers and supporters and party members act in a manner to ensure peace in our country,” he added, Sunday.
Energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter who accompanied Ruto assured him that Kericho is a Jubilee stronghold and they support president Uhuru kenyatta’s re-election.
“But I want to say your Excellency, we support you and the president 100 per cent,” Keter said.
