Machakos gubernatorial hopeful on Wiper Party Wavinya Ndeti has called on IEBC to ensure free, fair and credible elections during the forthcoming polls.

Speaking on Wednesday shortly after the High Court gave her the greenlight to vie, the former Kathiani MP further challenged the electoral agency to remain independent and forthright in the discharging of its duties.

“IEBC need to be fair, if they could have consulted the Registrar of Political Parties, we could not have reached here (in court). Today it has been seen that Kenya is bigger than Wafula Chebukati and IEBC. All this conflict is now in the past and I have forgiven IEBC, and I urge them to conduct a free and fair elections in August. I want to thank people of Machakos for standing strong with me,” she stated.

IEBC had sought to have her blocked from vying, on grounds that she belonged to two political parties.

The courts, however, dismissed IEBC’s Tribunal ruling barring her from running for the Machakos seat.
