The Western Regional Coordinator (RC), Chimwaga Mongo has called on the national government administration officers to ensure all standard eight levers in the area join to form one.
Mongo said in most areas, so far the enrollment was less than 50 percent, hence the call for collaboration with other stakeholders to achieve the targeted 100 percent transition rate.
The RC, who met County Commissioners and the Deputy County Commissioners in his Board Room on Thursday, asked them to instruct chiefs and assistant chiefs in their areas of jurisdiction to ensure that the directive was followed to the letter.
At the same time, stated that the government is determined to deliver on the big four agenda, including food security, affordable housing, manufacturing and affordable health care as outlined by President Uhuru Kenyatta during his Jamhuri Day speech.
“We have embarked on implementing the education sector reforms, including distributing of government textbooks to schools as well as piloting the new curriculum,” he stated.
Mongo added the brewing and consumption of illicit brews had increased in the region and they have started operations to stamp out the menace.
The administrator disclosed that they had discovered that sub-standard drinks from Uganda were being smuggled into the country and
ordered those manning border points to seal the loopholes.
He also said gambling has been outlawed and the security agents were confiscating machines stationed at all the trading centers, adding that nobody would be allowed to run the business.
