In an exclusive interview, the legislator said there has been a delay in handling cases.

“What I would like to appeal to the Judiciary is to have this country at heart. Let us not allow some trends in our Judicial service but am sure with the new Chief Justice all will be sorted out,” he said.

Gikaria faulted the institution over a ruling it made on JSC to interview all candidates who applied to be Chief Justice.

He said the Judiciary should give direction on the way forward and avoid giving out blanket rulings concerning the same.

“The Judiciary should not give blanket ruling to allow everyone to be shortlisted for if this is done then we shall be messing up the rule of law,” he said.
