Speaking to journalists in Garissa on Tuesday, Salat said that the Wafula Chebukati led commission has a duty of ensuring free, fair, transparent and credible polls.

He said that Kenyans are counting on the commission to deliver fair polls, adding that electoral body has the needed resources to ensure credible polls

Salt asked the IEBC to tackle concerns being raised by political parties to curb suspicions ahead of the polls.

“The IEBC has everything it needs and as Kenyans we are expecting free and credible general election,” he said as quoted by the Standard.

The SUPKEM official at the same time asked the commission to conduct intensive voter awareness campaigns.

He said that voters have to be thoroughly educated on the electoral processes to help them make informed choices on August 8.

Salat also pleaded with security agencies to beef up security ahead of the general election.

He said that provision of adequate security will ensure 100 per cent turn out on August 8.
