Just a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto assumed office on Tuesday, residents of Nakuru town are optimistic that the country will now move on in terms of development.
The residents have welcomed the news with joy, focus now being on how to move forward with development agenda.
In an interview, residents thanked God that peace prevailed.
“We are happy that the country can now move forward. We had waited for long with anxiety but we believe this is the time that God has remembered us. Now we need to unite the nation and move forward with development agenda," one resident said.
They urged President Kenyatta to focus on uniting the nation given the divisions that have been witnessed since campaigns started.
At the Nakuru wholesale Market, traders celebrated the inauguration by sharing a Jubilee branded cake.
