The facility's coordinator Miriam Maina says they decided to offer the services at a subsidised fee of Sh1,100 to ensure safety of children who are at risk.

Speaking on Sunday at PCEA Dr Arthur Prish in Nakuru, Mrs.Maina said the disease is dangerous as it can lead to death among children.

She called on parents to ensure their children receive the vaccine in order to save lives.

"May I take this chance to urge all parents to ensure that their children receive the influenza vaccine."

The virus was reported in county recently and has claimed three children in Elburgon.

However, the county government put in place measures including vaccination to contain it.
