ODM deputy leader Hassan Joho has challenged party supporters to turn up in large numbers to vote for opposition presidential candidate Raila Odinga in August.

Joho, who also doubles as Mombasa Governor has been spearheading opposition campaigns across the country and will be in charge of Coastal region in the next two months.

“For us to win, you must ensure your spouses and side chicks (those in multiple relationships) vote for us in August,” he told a huge gathering in Siaya on Monday.

He added: “We need to win convincingly and that is the only way to rescue this country. I said I will lead the pack and that is what I will exactly do.”

Viewed as critic of Jubilee administration, Joho has had a fair of his troubles with the government which has often landed him into trouble.

With President Uhuru Kenyatta expected in Mombasa on Thursday to launch SGR, Joho has maintained that he will attend despite his occasional differences with Kenyatta.

Earlier this year, he was locked out of Kenyatta’s function in Likoni by the police following another war of words that had marred a function which the two shared platform.
