(Cyprian Muthoka/hivisasa.com)Machakos County government has started a Student Training for Entrepreneurial Promotion for Youth in the County.The program, which is a partnership between Kenyatta University, LEUPHANA, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and Machakos County Government, has seen the youth equipped with skills that will empower them to focus on job creation instead of becoming job seekers.The training will run for 6 weeks and seeks to find a perfect solution to the limited employment opportunities in the County.Kenyatta University Chancellor Prof. K Wainaina said that the University will continue supporting the Youth to become self-sufficient and productive members of society."We have so far built five youth centers across Machakos County and welcome such partnerships that will supplement our efforts in improving the quality of life for our youth and women in the County," said Wainaina.He further claimed that through the Ministry for education, youth and social welfare, the County government of Machakos is committed to providing capital for youth with entrepreneurial training in Machakos County to give them a solid footing as they begin their journey as entrepreneurs.
