Chitago Ward Representative Albert Oino has said that the entry of former South Mugirango lawmaker Omingo Magara into the Kisii county senatorial race is a game-changer for the region's politics.
According to Oino, the former legislator will likely line up on Governor James Ongwae’s side which is currently enjoying massive support in Kisii.
OIno said that Omingo has numbers and if he joins Ogwae it will a big blow to the Omugusii unity initiative spearheaded by current senator Chris Obure.
“We have no doubt that ‘Omogusii Unity’ has plans to get the top county seat and other top county slots like the senatorial and Women Rep but that will be hard if Ongwae and Omingo forms an alliance,” said Oino.
The MCA also said that if the duo line-up senior politicians in Kisii County such as Sam Ongeri and Chris Obure will have no option but retire from the regional politics as they will be voted out by residents.
Oino was speaking to this writer on Monday evening during an interview.
