The county government of Nyamira has been urged to equip dispensaries with medicine and equipment to improve service delivery.
On Tuesday, Bomwagamo MCA Julius Nyangana said the county government has allocated a lot of funds to the health department hence the need to equip all dispensaries in the region with medicine and better equipment.
“The health department has been allocated a lot of money and now we are asking the county government to equip all dispensaries with medicine and medical equipment. We will not sit and watch our people suffer and yet health services have been brought closer to them. We will fight as the county assembly to ensure all dispensaries have medicine and equipment,” Nyangana said.
He cautioned medical staff against stealing drugs thereby robbing residents of their rights
The MCA spoke during the official opening of the Nyabweri dispensary.
He asked residents to utilise the facilities as well as support the growth of the dispensaries within the ward.
“I also urge all of you to make sure that you attend our local dispensaries since it’s the locally available hospital for us, also lets us embark on the urgency to make the dispensaries grow as this will promote the medical department around us to be of meaning to us,” Nyangana added.
