Speaking during the parliamentary budget public participation forum, Mbugi said the district officers get a hard time in their operations.

"The district officers get a hard task to perform their duties effectively, at times they are forced to use their own resources to serve their people," said Mbugi.

"I urge the parliamentary budget committee to set aside funds for the purchase of the cars for the district officers,” he added.

Mbugi has also cried over the poor living conditions of the police officers in Kisii town saying that they are living in poor environments yet they are a great asset for peace in the town.

"Our police officers are living in poor houses, we need to make them comfortable since they are the backbone of the security we enjoyed in this town and county," said Mbugi.

"I also ask the committee to set aside money for the construction of modern police houses,” he said.

Mbugi congratulated the national government for issuing motorbikes to the chiefs to make their work and movement easy within their areas of jurisdictions.

He also urged the government to consider the village elders and appreciate them for the good work they are doing.
