The Ministry of Education has received equipment worth sh30 million from United Nation Children’s Emergency Fund, Unicef.

The money will be used to support the National Council for Nomadic Education in Kenya, Nakonek.

According to KBC radio, the equipment includes 16 desktops, 16 laptops, a refrigerator and a television set among others.

Speaking on Wednesday while receiving the equipment at his Jogoo offices, Nairobi education principal secretary, Belio Kipsang said the gadgets will help the ministry collect data which will assist in bringing on board children who are out of school in nomadic areas.

The PS said that the government was working in partnership with Unicef to upscale the education standards at the same time address the challenges faced by children in nomadic areas including poor access to education and learning facilities. He also said that the government has invested heavily in the ICT sector to leverage on the delivery of better services for Kenyans.
