State House spokesperson Manoah Esipisu has lashed at Cord leader Raila Odinga for criticising President Uhuru Kenyatta's call to withdraw troops from the war-torn South Sudan.
In his State House updates done on Monday November 14, Esipisu called on Raila to let President Kenyatta carry out his duties reminding him that the decision to withdraw the troops was done constitutionally and with permission from the National Security Council.
"The decision by the president to withdraw troops from South Sudan is guided by the constitution. The president also got the permission from the National Security Council who allowed the withdrawal of the troops from South Sudan," said Esipisu.
This comes after Cord leader Raila Odinga criticised the president of acting outside the constitution.
According to Raila, the president did not consult Parliament in making the decision and that the soldiers were going to lose allowances and stipends.
However, Esipisu said that looking at the matter from the perspective of allowances and stipends was uncalled for since it was only going to trivialise the matter.
