Taking to Twitter, the vocal Women rep said that Babu Owino was the duly elected MP and that the court's decision to upheld his victory was a clear indication that the will of the people had been represented.

The women rep also congratulates Kibwezi East MP Jessicah Mbali after her win was also upheld.

"Congratulations to the duly elected Embakasi East Member of Parliament, Hon. @Babu_Owino and my sister Kibwezi East MP Hon. Jessicah Mbalu. It's a relief to see the will of the People upheld," she said.

While making their judgment, judges Mohammed Warsame, Daniel Musinga and Kathurima M'Inoti said that the applicant (Francis Mureithi) didn't demonstrate how intimidation affected the final results.

"The applicant claimed that the Returning Officer was compelled and intimidated to announce the results. The officer's duty was to tally the final results from all the polling stations and announce the winner immediately. He did not however demonstrate how the intimidation affected the final results," stated Warsame.

Babu Owino has however welcomed the win and urged his opposition to offer him support.

"I would like to tell my opponents to wake up and move on. I also invite them to come and help me serve the people of Embakasi,” Owino said.
