Speaking on Radio Jambo Tuesday, Etale, however, endorsed the collaboration between the two in pursuit of national cohesion, noting that national unity remains top most.

"On behalf of Raila Odinga and ODM, I wish apologize to those who are opposed to and might have been angered or offended by the reconciliation between Odinga and Kenyatta" he said.

"However, the unity of Kenyans remains more important as compared to any politician's political ambitions and interests," he added.

Etale called upon the entire nation to rally behind the duo in the initiative, maintaining that it is aimed at bettering the nation.

He rubbished claims that the move was a political stunt ahead of the 2022 general elections, maintaining that it is a demonstration of  goodwill between the two.

"It was aimed at kick-starting our economy and reducing political and ethnic animosity and, therefore, we should stop condemning it and come on board in enhancing it," said Etale.

The move has been condemned and praised alike, with a section of opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders threatening to pull out in protest.
