[Photo: The Star]Chief Observer European Union, Marietje Schaake has said that October 26 repeat presidential poll must be organised in a way that generates much more trust.Schaake said that EU observer mission assessment is that it's still possible to organise the election and make the much-needed reforms later as highlighted by the Supreme Court 'historic ruling'."All elements of the procedure should be improved to ensure that trust is solid. However, proposals before Parliament currently are not necessary and are not vital to the process.""Election laws should not be changed right before elections but not less than six months to the elections. It is our hope that Kenyans will take time to read what we have said in our latest communiqué," Schaake told KTN News on Tuesday evening from Brussels via Skype. However, speaking at the same time, NASA secretariat CEO Norman Magaya blamed Jubilee for the current deadlock saying 'Jubilee brigadiers are liars'."Jubilee is lying that they have no irreducible minimums yet they are changing the rules of the game at halftime. Jubilee is the biggest stumbling block to free, fair and credible elections and we are telling them there will be no election on the 26th unless the political field is levelled in reference to the Constitution," Magaya said echoing Senator James Orengo earlier statements made in a press conference. He said Nasa is open for talks with Jubilee if Uhuru withdraws the Electoral Laws Amendment Bill currently receiving public opinions. On his part, Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen said that Kenyans are helping in strengthening the bill and they are not about to abandon it.He asked Nasa to participate in the process of amending the election laws saying that even as Jubilee he had no 'guarantee on what provisions are going to be passed'.
