The European Union has suspended it's 3.6 billion shillings funding to a forest conservation project. The suspension was triggered by an incident that saw forest guards kill a native living in one of the forests that is part of the project. In a statement seen by the media, the EU regretted that the killing occurred even though the union had requested the government to uphold human rights and avoid any violations. The shooting which occurred on Tuesday was a violation of the agreement that the EU had with the Kenyan government according to the statement.
