A Range Rover belonging to Water CS and Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Eugene Wamalwa was stolen from the United Kingdom.
Speaking at a Nairobi court on Monday, Kenya Revenue Authority confirmed that the vehicle has accrued a Sh6.5 million tax debt and opposed Wamalwa’s request to have it released to him as investigations continue.
The Kenya Revenue Authority revealed this on Monday and asked the court to reject Wamalwa's application for the car to be released to him.
KRA told the court that Interpol investigators discovered that the vehicle of registration number KCE 683H had been stolen and not imported as claimed by Wamalwa.
Milimani senior principal magistrate Martha Mutuku has ordered the vehicle to be taken back to the UK pending further investigations.
