Posta Rangers goalkeeper Patrick Matasi is on the radar of European teams after a stellar performance during the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup in December, 2017.
Turkish top flight teams including Trabzonspor and Sivaspor are among interested parties.
Matasi’s signature is being sought after he helped Harambee lift Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup. The shot-stopper did not concede a single goal.
During the final, Matasi produced a man of the match performance and saved three crucial penalties. He was crowned the tournament’s best player.
The player confirmed the interest but refused to give details about the stage of negotiations.
“Of course, playing in Europe is every player’s dream, but for now, let’s say I am still a Posta Rangers player and whom I’m training with. If the move to turkey comes into fruition, I will let you know after consulting with my agent, Matasi said as quoted by the People Daily.
Matasi promised to inform interested parties after consulting with his agent.
“All what I know is that offers have come from Turkey amongst other quarters, but speaking about it could jeopardize negotiations. I would rather speak about it when the deal is through,” he said.
