Opposition supporters should prepare to join their Jubilee competitors in celebrating President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election after August 8, Deputy President William Ruto has said.Ruto said Jubilee’s focus is not to spread falsehoods and propaganda against political opponents but to conduct issue-based politics and clinch victory after the country’s sixth presidential election. He was speaking in company of President Uhuru Kenyatta and other senior Jubilee politicians at COMESA grounds outside Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi after Uhuru presented his nomination papers to IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati seeking re-election.“I want to tell you even those people (NASA) know Uhuru will win the election. They know they will lose, that is why they have resorted to telling lies. They have no clear agenda for the country,” said Ruto.“We have started the journey that we believe will culminate in the re-election of Uhuru Kenyatta. We have an impeccable track record, boast of a superior agenda and a focused, issue-based campaign.”He said Jubilee had done tremendous work in improving the country’s social infrastructure ranging from roads and railway construction, new electricity household and institution connections and improvement of the healthcare sector through the abolition of expectant mother delivery charges and re-stocking of hospitals with drugs despite Health being a devolved function.Ruto took a swipe at Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero’s administration saying it had failed to live to city residents’ expectations.“We are presenting to you Mike Sonko (Governor aspirant), Johnson Sakaja (Senate) and Rachel Shebesh (Women Rep). This is the team that will develop Nairobi.”Uhuru will be taking on NASA leader Raila Odinga in yet another poll political analysts say will be too close to call, bringing back the March 2013 election memories when the two faced off.
