Jubilee Women leaders have vowed to marshal support for President Uhuru Kenyatta in the upcoming repeat poll.
The leaders who spoke during a Meeting with hundreds of women from Uasin Gishu county pledged to ensure high voter turnout in Jubilee strongholds across the country.
Led by Bomet governor Joyce Laboso, Uasin Gishu Senator Prof. Margret Kamar and MPs Beatrice Kones, Janet Rotich and former Nairobi Woman MP Rachael Shebesh, the women leaders under the umbrella 'Jubilee Women brigade' said they will ensure even the sick vote in the October 26 poll.
“We want to affirm that President Kenyatta won squarely in the August poll because Kenyans are tired of this political theatrics we are being treated to by the opposition and this is why we are here to rally women and all residents to come out in large numbers and vote for Jubilee,” said Bomet governor.
“This time round we want the sick, the disabled and even those who have given birth to go to the polls and we will do everything possible to ensure those who didn't vote in August 8 election cast their votes this time round,” added Turbo MP Janet Rotich.
Similar sentiments were shared by other women leaders who attended the meeting held at the Uasin Gishu County government headquarters grounds in Eldoret town who challenged women at the grassroots to help in ensuring high voter turnout.
