Every household in Kesses constituency, Uasin Gishu County will be connected with electricity.
Area Member of Parliament Swarup Kiprop Mishra said this will enhance security and create employment opportunities in the region.
"We have completed land scrapping where more than 200 transformers will be erected in different parts of the constituency to supply power to residents," he said in Eldoret town, Monday.
"830 million shillings will be used for the project which will commence soon. I want to make Kesses a better constituency," he said.
He, however, urged the opposition leader Raila Odinga to stop what he termed as economic sabotage, through asking his supporters to boycott some products and services.
"Raila should stop this mess, for heaven sake, it's not Uhuru Kenyatta that he is punishing but poor Jubilee and NASA supporters. Kenyans are really suffering," said Mishra.
He eulogised Eldoret Catholic Diocese Arch Bishop Cornelius Korir as a peace ambassador who spent most of his time preaching peace.
"Bishop Korir was a selfless leader who called on Kenyans to coexist with one another peacefully regardless of their political and tribal affiliations. On my behalf and the people of Kesses, I want to send my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased at this trying moment. May his soul rest in eternal peace," he said.
