Aden says that he has the experience to run Garissa Assembly affairs.
Speaking to journalists in Masalani on Sunday, Aden said also said that he has the political and legal background much needed the seat.
The ODM organizing secretary said that he will conduct his role as speaker without bias if elected.
Aden said that Garissa people need a vibrant speaker who will articulate Assembly issues and provide direction in terms of legislation.
“I am appealing to elected and nominated Garissa MCAs to vote me in as their next speaker so that we can move our county’s development agenda in terms of legislation forward,” he said as quoted by the Standard.
Aden is among three aspirants who have applied for the position seat according to Garissa Assembly clerk Mohamed Santur.
Former Ijara MP Ibrahim Abbas is also eyeing the seat with former speaker Assembly Mohammed Abbey also in the race.
Aden is said to be lobbying for the seat through a section of clam elders.
Garissa MCAs are expected to elect their speaker on Thursday after taking oath of office.
