Police in Kisumu have been criticised for lobbying teargas canisters at Patrick's Awich Kodigo EDCE Centre during the anti- IEBC protests in Kisumu on Monday.
Former Kenya Private Schools, Busia Chapter Executive Secretary, Michael Ikolak termed the move as barbaric.
"The law is clear that children don't cheat. We demand a clear explanation from the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet over the conduct of his officers and action to be taken on the offenders," said Ikolak, Wednesday.
"The footages we saw were not a creation of the media. It is unfortunate that Kisumu County Commander denied police threw teargas in the school," he said.
The police reportedly teargassed the kids during NASA's anti-IEBC demos.
Ikolak said security detail should not be allowed to take impunity to children.
"We say no and never to use barbaric acts by the law enforcers."
