Kila said the claims should be treated as rumors being peddled by people who do not know what they are saying.

"No, there's no such a thing. They are just rumors, I have not been contacted by Wavinya Ndeti asking me to deputize her," Kiala said.

He spoke to this writer on the phone on Monday.

Kiala said the Wiper candidate and former Kathiani MP hasn't requested him to deputize her.

He, however, declined to comment on whether he will vie for the gubernatorial seat in case a by-election is called for the position by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) if the Supreme Court rules in Ndeti's favor.

Kiala said the case is still in court and people should be patient and maintain peace while waiting for the verdict.

He told the Machakos residents to elect their next governor wisely if a by-election is held.

" It would be a second chance for Machakos people to right their wrongs, and chose whoever they wish to lead them wisely," Kiala said.

As at now, Machakos residents are waiting for the Supreme Court's verdict to determine whether they will return to the ballot or not.
