At least 150 orphans in various Children Homes in Kisii had a rare opportunity to smile, after area ex-Mayor Samuel Nyangeso donated fudstuff among other basic amenities, as they ushered in new year.

Drawn from Keumbu Holiness, New Life and Ogembo Faith  Children's home, the orphans also receive learning materials and sanitary pads.

Nyangeso said he felt how the kids were, and decided to celebrate with them new year.

''It is always good to share. These children require our support,'' he said.

He however challenged area leaders to cheap in and support the less privileged in education and economically.
