Abel Ongaro, a retired soldier in Nakuru, said he decided to distribute condoms after observing that HIV/Aids is on rise in Molo town and the surrounding areas.

The former soldier said he is targeting hotels, pubs and night clubs where sexual activities are common.

"Last month alone I managed to distribute over 20,000 condoms in the town,” said Ongaro.

Ongaro said it is sad to see youth getting infected with sexually transmitted diseases while hospitals are full of unused condoms.

“I want the rate of HIV prevalence in Molo to go down. I am also targeting Salgaa and Nakuru town,” notes Ongaro.

Area Member of County Assembly (MCA), Stephen Kariuki, commended the former army man for the good job.

"He is doing very commendable job and he need our support. Aids have killed our people and we have to come with new mechanism to fight it,” noted Kariuki.
