Former Higher Education Minister Prof Margret Kamar has clinched the Senate Jubilee party ticket in Uasin Gishu county.
Kamar who served in the docket during the grand coalition government garnered 73,608 votes to be declared the winner.
Her closest competitor Robert Kemei, a former Radio broadcaster got 51,454.
The win marks her return to the national political limelight and she is most likely to be the next Uasin Gishu senator considering the fact that the county is a Jubilee stronghold.
Prof Kamar unsuccessfully vied for the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat on an ODM ticket in 2013 but later joined the Jubilee party.
