Former Bonchari MP John Opore has been accused of diverting funds meant to upgrade Suneka airstrip to his own pocket.
Current area MP John Oyioka said the former MP colluded with the contractor to embezzle funds.
“Opore and the contractor believed to be his close relative embezzled funds meant to upgrade the airstrip. This is unacceptable and EACC to investigate the former legislator to know how he used CDF funds during his 15 years of leadership,” said Oyioka.
The MP noted that he will not tolerate lazy contractors to be awarded tenders.
“Lazy contractors should stop wasting their time applying for tenders because I won’t allow them to be awarded the tenders. Development projects must be completed in time to improve the lives of people in the constituency,” he added.
He vowed not to allow close relatives, family members to interfere with his leadership.
"The mandate I was given by the people of Bonchari should be protected and respected. I will not favor my family members, close friends throughout my leadership especially in the allocation of bursary funds to students and awarding tenders to applicants,” he noted.
