Raila has hinted at the formation of a 'super alliance' and on Saturday while on a tour in Kisii County, said Cord is expected to receive ‘new big names’ towards the 2017 elections.

And in a phone call to this reporter on Wednesday ahead of Mashujaa Day celebrations on Thursday, Abuya said Raila had the mental character to topple the Jubilee Party given his experience in politics.

“He is quite experienced and should they form the so-called super alliance, he remains the only candidate to give Jubilee a run of their money. The rest have been on a political sabbatical leave and should only be given superficial roles,” he said.

“Beating Jubilee doesn’t need someone who is politically silent like I have seen in a number of those in opposition. They should all rally behind Raila or lose to Jubilee early in 2017,” he added.

On Mashujaa Day, Abuya challenged the county government to compensate heroes and heroines who have contributed in many ways for the country’s success.

“Sometimes I feel Mashujaa holiday doesn’t achieve the intended purpose. Some of us who stood for Kenya at trying moments are never recognized,’ he said.
