Former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando has been castigated for asking President Uhuru Kenyatta to reach out to NASA leader Raila Odinga for dialogue.
Hundreds of Mukurweini constituents staged a protest on Wednesday against the ex-lawmaker, distancing themselves from Kabando's remarks.
The protests saw the residents march with a wooden casket christened "Kabando NASA", in a clear dissatisfaction with Kabando's calls.
Earlier in the week, Kabando joined a host of other Mt Kenya leaders including former powerful Cabinet Minister Martha Karua in calling on the Head of State to drop his hardline stance and engage the Opposition.
"One of them should have the courage to pick up the phone and call the other. That is the only way this country will go into the election on October 26," Karua stated.
On his part, former Kiambu governor William Kabogo called for electoral reforms within IEBC ahead of the October 26 presidential repeat polls.
