Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana will have to go an extra mile to retain his seat after another aspirant declared interest in his post in the forthcoming general polls.
National Social Security Fund board chairman Gideon Ndambuki has announced that he will contest against Kibwana come August.
The aspirant, a minister of Planning and National Development, had initially revealed that he will battle it out with Kibwana for a Wiper ticket but later changed his mind to join Jubilee.
Addressing residents at Kilala and Kaumoni markets in Kaiti Constituency, Ndambuki said that he will trounce Kibwana when that time comes.
He also said that he opted to join Jubilee because he feared being rigged out in Wiper.
“I have made a decision to contest on a Jubilee ticket because I have no trust in Wiper party; I was rigged out in 2013 in Senate primaries,” he told.
The aspirant added that he will transform this area if he ascends to power like he did during his reign as an MP.
“You all know my record of development when I was Kaiti Mp, I urge you to support me so that I extend my works in the entire county.
”Nairobi-based business mogul David Masika (New Democrats ticket) has also joined the race to smoke out the incumbent governor.
