Former Bumula MP Bifwoli Wakoli has urged the Luhya community to rally behind President Uhuru Kenyatta’s 2017 re-election bid following his tremendous development in the region.
In less than a fortnight, Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto camped in the vote rich Western region to officially open Pan Paper Millis which had liquidated.
Speaking on Thursday during the ceremony, Wakoli said the region was likely to benefit more from Kenyatta’s administration in his second term.
“We all know that in politics, you start working for those who backed you in numbers and in 2013, we supported opposition. The president is doing well and it is my trust that he will win next year,” he said.
“He has done tremendous job for our people in the past four years and I hope we shall reward him with the same favour in 2017,” Wakoli added.
Wakoli’s statement comes after Musalia Mudavadi, a man believed to be Western region kingpin, threw his support behind the opposition team recently.
