A woman claimed to be IEBC’s CEO Ezra Chiloba’s wife and a relative of the Kenyatta’s family has finally broken her silence over the allegations.
Charity Oner came to the limelight after a photo of her and Chiloba in a past wedding procession emerged.
Reports indicated the two were married and that Oner was a relative of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The claims surfaced after IEBC declared Uhuru as the president elect in the August 8 polls.
A section of Kenyans took to social media to allege Chiloba had a hand in Uhuru’s victory since he was married to his relative.
Oner has however refuted claims that she is married to Chiloba.
Speaking to Nairobi News on Friday, she further noted she is not kin of Kenyatta’s family.
She stated the photo circulating on social media platforms was taken in a wedding where Chiloba was the best man while she was the best lady.
“I am from Homa Bay and not related to Kenyatta’s as people have claimed. At first I ignored the romours until I thought there was need to clarify because I received so many calls on Friday evening,” Oner is quoted by Nairobi News.
She stated it is prejudiced to share out information about others which has not been verified.
“It has become the norm of the people to share unverified information which is unfair to others especially when families are involved,” she added.
Oner is married to the immediate former Rangwe MP George Oner while Chiloba is married to Rebecca Mananu.
