Ex-Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama has said he is ready to succeed former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka as Wiper party leader.

Muthama said he is prepared to take over leadership of the political outfit when the right time comes.

He said it was high time Wiper leaders re-organized themselves so as to produce a president.

“It is time to put our house in order and speak in one voice in order to move forward as a community, we cannot afford to be swayed right, left and center we have to remain firm and united,” Muthama said.

Muthama spoke at a burial ceremony in Makueni County on Sunday.

He also urged Wiper rebels to reconsider returning to their home as they fight for their political lives.

 “I urge you to return to the Wiper Democratic Party so that we can unite all Kamba’s and speak in one voice,” Muthama said.

The former Senator is among the most vocal politicians in Ukambani region.

He has for a long period of time urged the locals to unite and back Kalonzo's presidential bid so as to make his dream a reality.

Kalonzo is expected to battle it out in the ballot with other politicians among them Deputy President William Ruto in 2022 polls.
