The club appointed the veteran coach in April on a temporary basis following a dismal performance under Paul Nkata that climaxed with a heavy 7-2 loss against KCCA.

Under his stewardship, the tax collectors won one and drew three of the four matches in charge.

The club finished 9th with 37 points, their worst ever finish since gaining promotion in 2012.

Ssimbwa has previously coached Mbale Heroes, Masaka Union, Top TV, Atraco (Rwanda), Simba SC (Tanzania), Express, KCCA, Soana and Sofapaka in the Kenya Premier League.

He is expected to work with former Vipers and Bukavu dawa goalkeeping coach Stephen Billy Kiggundu.
