Former students of Nyakongo High School have condemned an incident where six boys from the school were arrested after sneaking into a girls' dormitory in the neighbouring Omoyo Girls High on Saturday night.
The boys were later released after interrogations.
Led by the former head boy Duke Kamanda of the year 2009, they said the act has cast the institution in bad light, and challenged the school management to take action against the boys to serve as an example in a bid to curb the menace.
Speaking to this writer on Wednesday on the phone, Kamanda who completed his high school education in 2009, said it is high time for the management deter such acts in future by disciplining the boys.
“During our time we had no such behaviours even though it was a mixed school. It is unfortunate to find some boys misbehaving by travelling to a girls' school to commit such weird acts. As old boys of the school we condemn the incident,” he added.
He further challenged the principals and boarding masters of the schools to ensure they take a roll call before the students retire to bed.
