There was excitement early today for many youths in Nyaribari Chache constituencies drawn from all six wards as the NYS Empowerment Orientation Programme kicked off today.
According to some of the youths interviewed during the orientation today, they could not hide their joy that the program has been actualised and they will be able to earn some money for their well-being.
Christopher Moreri a beneficiary said that he is happy most of the unemployed youths from the area joined the program and they will be able to support themselves.
“I can openly say that those who joined the programme deserved it and we are happy the government gave us the opportunity,” he added.
The troops are under NYS ward commander Patrick Binsari and other trained youths who will also be heading several groups of 15 people per group.
Nyaribari Chache constituency is one of the 70 Constituencies across the Country where NYS empowerment programme is taking place.
The programme is expected to run for the next eight months and they will be paid every Friday, though the president is set to officially visit the area to launch the program later on this month.
