Renowned television siren, KTN journalist Sophia Wanuna is arguably part of the thin cabal of journalists who are in Raila Odinga's good books.Every time she has held an interview with the opposition leader, she has been treated with great hospitality by the Odinga's; given a tour of Odinga's regal mansion, and a chance to have a taste of the mouth-watering cuisine powering the honourable family.During the Christmas holiday, the Odinga family opened its doors to the mellow-voiced, svelte Sophia Wanuna, not in Karen this time around, but in the opposition leader's rural home in Bondo. The environment was at it's most serene, punctuated by the incessant songs of birds, perhaps delighted by the presence of the enigma after many days away in the hustle and bustle of Nairobi.Just like years ago when she interviewed the Odinga family in Karen, Wanuna came armed not just with loads of knowledge that helped her line of questioning, but she also came with her feminine charm.Clad in a tight-fitting pair of grey trousers, a high-necked blouse, and well-coiffed hair, she radiated elegance in spades. This time around her feminine charm did not yield the intended outcomes. She tried to get Raila to give straight answers on sensitive questions but failed spectacularly. For instance, on the question of whether Raila had the backing of the military to go on with the swearing-in, the opposition supremo flatly refused to give a clear answer, saying, ''Sophia I am not going to say what you want me to say. We will cross that bridge when we reach there''In the course of the interview, Raila appeared slightly frustrated by the line of questioning as evidenced by his laboured breathing and facial expression. When she suggested that NASA seemed not to have a clear strategy, Raila said to her face; ''That is in your mind''.Clearly, Sophia's legendary charm did not work its magic this time.
