Kenyans would pay more to sustain an office that will be created to accommodate veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga, in what resembles a parallel government, details have emerged.
Three weeks ago, Raila shocked the nation when he reconciled with President Uhuru Kenyatta, in what he describes as 'new dawn' for Kenya.
"It was an agreement between the president and the people's president," said Raila, when he responded questions from journalists on Thursday.
But even before the secret deal between the duo is implemented, a source within NASA intimates that Raila would have an office, fully equipped with staff in Jagoo House.
An annex of the office, will also be established within the Harambee House, which will accommodate strategists and advisers who will implement objectives shared by the two.
"He was be accorded presidential treatment and would have a fully furnished house at Jogoo. We shall also have an annex at Harambee House," a source said in confidence.
Even more compelling, Raila, who has remained mum about the content of the deal, will have security of presidential status and will be highly guarded by top security officers.
And to crown his new status, the source adds, Odinga will have a special kitty from which he will implement projects across the country, some of which stalled after the end of grand coalition.
"When I say he will operate a parallel but moderate government, I mean he will have a kitty to impliment projects some of which that had stalled after leaving office as PM," he further said, adding that the ODM leader will also earn a salary.
Multiple sources who declined to be named within Orange House, said that Raila's new cars with official government seal are being re-branded at Prestige in Nairobi.
Last week, Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, hinted that the government could give Raila offices and salary to continue 'serving' his people.
