Controversial Embakasi East MP Babu Owino was not in Kenya on Saturday and Sunday.
Babu, who recently mended fences with President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto after a long spell of verbal attacks said he had traveled to troubled South Sudan where he spent two days with the volatile country's First Family.
"I spent my weekend with the First Family of South Sudan upon invitation by the First Lady Mama Mary Ayen Mayardit who is a family friend at her residence in Juba," Babu said in a tweet during the visit.
"I had the privilege of being briefed on the ongoing peace talks in South Sudan. I pray for lasting peace in South Sudan."
He said his relationship with the world's youngest country's First Family began when he was still at the University of Nairobi adding that the relationship keeps on straightening by the day.
South Sudan has been experiencing instability since July 23, 2015 when President Salva Kiir Mayardit sacked his entire cabinet including Vice President Riek Machar.
The development spiraled into an armed struggle after protests by leaders allied to Machar who was said, then, was eyeing the presidency.
Among leaders who flew out of the country for fear of their lives during the struggle was Rebecca Nyandeng' Garang', the widow to South Sudan's first President the late John Garang'.
