The plane crashed at Abadares killing eight passengers and two members of the crew in what has now created sharp debate across the country.

Having left Kitale late, Barbara had to change plans after the Air Control insisted that she has to use Abadares following late realisation that Wilson did not have landing at the time.

"She was directed to a route that she had not used before and she had a bitter exchange with the Air Control over the same," notes journalist Jepkorir Lagat.

The journalist adds: "However, after a lengthy talk, she agreed to use the route after she was assured of guidance throughout."

Apparently, Wilson Airpot delayed to hand-over the plane to JKIA and due to its weak signals and subsequently, Barabara lost contact.

She reportedly flew on her own as she tried to navigate through the foggy Abadares. In the process, she could not fly higher because of Etihad and Emirates which used the same route.
